Welcome to the Honolulu Film Awards Screenplay Competition. The 2014 Call for Entries is now open.  This annual screenplay competition was created to help aspiring screenwriters break into the entertainment industry as well as to support emerging new talent.  We are currently accepting entries in all lengths and genres.

For Digital Entries:
We also accept digital entries via email.  You will need to email us the completed Official Entry Form along with a digital file of your screenplay to info@honolulufilmawards.com.  We accept PDF, Word, Final Draft and Mobie Magic formats.

Ten scripts will be recognized as Official Finalists in the Competition along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners. Three Winners will also be selected from among the Short Screenplay category.

Cash prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Early Bird Deadline - August 20, 2013

Contest Rules and Conditions:
Screenplays written by up to four people may be entered in the competition. Only one entry fee and one entry form is required for such entries. All authors' names should be listed on the entry form.

You may submit multiple entries; each screenplay submitted must include its own separate entry form and entry fee.

You retain all rights to your work submitted.

Screenplays should be in standard screenplay format and should be no longer than 180 pages.

Short screenplays (under 50 pages) are accepted.

Submissions must be the original work of the applicant.  Entries, however, may be adapted from other works.

If the script is based on a true story, historical or contemporary, that should be noted on the title page of the script.

Script materials will not be returned.

The selection committees' and juries' decisions are final.

The Honolulu Film Awards reserves the right to make any necessary changes in event scheduling.

You agree to indemnify us and all of our employees, partners, officers, parent companies and/or subsidiaries, sponsors, and other agents harmless against any and all claims or liability resulting from your entry or participation in the Honolulu Film Awards.

By submitting your project for consideration into the Honolulu Film Awards you certify that you are authorized to submit said project and agree to all rules and regulations.
